Dr. Jaime Namminga is an Assistant Professor of Music at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, where she coordinates the collaborative piano area and teaches ear training and class piano. She recently created and directs the Minor in Collaborative Piano degree at SU.
Namminga performs regularly in recital with vocalists and instrumentalists alike. She performed in a piano trio at the 2023 World Saxophone Congress in Gran Canaria, Spain and was a finalist for the 2021 Puerto Rico Collaborative Piano Institute competition. Indie Opera Podcast described her playing as “gorgeous and fantastic.”
Namminga will be a piano faculty member for the 2025 Orvieto Musica Collaborative Piano Intensive in Orvieto, Italy, where she will both teach and perform.
She has been a vocal coach and piano conductor for various musical theatre productions, including Fun Home and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at Bucknell University and Matilda for the Lycoming College Summer Stock program. Namminga is in demand as a choral pianist, playing annually for the ACDA-PA honor choir.
Her scholarship includes writings and presentations on various collaborative piano topics, such as rehearsing with a pianist and the pianistic enhancing of musical theatre and choral repertoire. Her articles on the choral pianist as co-leader and the “LAWs” of collaborative piano were recently published in the Choral Journal and On Collaborating, respectively.
Namminga holds a BA from the University of Sioux Falls, a MM from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and a DMA from Arizona State University. She resides in Selinsgrove, PA with her husband Darin and their three children: Sophia, Dakota, and Oliver.
